Under the permanent commission, you can try to enter get the Office Grade position in the Indian Army.   1. Short Service Commission

  1. Indian Army Tradesman Exam

The Indian Army Tradesman category is a special one that the Indian Army hires for. It is generally divided into two different categories – General Duties and Specified Duties. Other Ways to Join the Indian Army

Apart from these several exams, including the NDS and CDS exams, you can also join the Indian Army through different schemes.

  1. 10 + 2 Entries – Technical Entry Scheme

This scheme allows you to join the Indian Army after clearing 12th through the science stream. Under the scheme, you can join the Army on the rank of Lieutenant through Indian Army recruitment. However, only male candidates can get an entry under the scheme. The selection of this scheme is done using the SSB interview and has an age limit of 16.5 years to 19.5 years.

  1. University Entry Scheme

Under this scheme, engineering final year students can apply for permanent commission in the technical arm of the Indian Army. The Army hires students through campus placement and the selection is based upon SSB interview under Indian Army Recruitment.

  1. JAG – Judge Advocate General

Under this scheme, the Indian Army hires legally qualified professionals on a short commission basis. Candidates are required to have an LLB degree and a valid bar council certificate. The age limit for the scheme is 21 to 27 years.

  1. Short Service Commission

Under this scheme, technical graduates and post-graduates can join the Army through Indian Army recruitment process as laid out in each notification. The selection of the candidates is done through the medical test and SSB interview.

  1. Technical Graduate Course

Final year students or Engineering graduates can join the Indian Army under this scheme. The selection of the candidates is based on SSB interviews and medical tests.

Age Limit- The upper age limit for this post is 17 and a half years, whereas the lower age limit should not be more than 21 years.

  1. Soldier Technical (Technical Arms, Army Air Defence, Artillery)

Education Qualification- An applicant should pass 10+2 standard having at least 50% marks in Physics, English, Chemistry, and Maths and a minimum of 40% marks in other subjects.

Age Limit- The age limit of the applicants should be in between 17.5 years to 23 years.

  1. Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical (All Arms)

Education Qualification- For this post, the applicants should pass their intermediate or 10+2 examination in any stream (Science, Commerce, and Arts) with a minimum of 60% marks in average and 50% in every subject. Scoring 50% marks in Maths or Accounts or Book Keeping and English in 12th standard is essential.

Age Limit- The upper age limit of the applicant should not be less than 17.5 years and the lower age limit of the applicant should not be more than 23 years.

  1. Soldier Nursing Assistant (Army Medical Corps)

Education Qualification- To apply for this mentioned post, the applicants should pass their 10+2 examination with English and science as their main stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). They should contain a minimum of 50% marks on average and 40% in each subject.

Age Limit- The age limit of the applicants should be within 17.5 years to 21 years.

  1. SepoyPharma (Army Medical Corps)

Education Qualification- The applicants should pass their 10+2 or intermediate examination with science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and English as their main stream. They should possess a D.Pharma with at least 55% marks on average from a reputed institute that is under the State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India.

Age Limit- The minimum age limit for this post is 19 years, whereas the maximum age limit should not be more than 25 years.

  1. Soldier Nursing Assistant Veterinary (Remount Veterinary Corps)

Education Qualification- To apply for this post, the applicants should pass their 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology. The applicants should have a minimum of 40% marks in each subject.

Age Limit- The age of the applicant should be in between 17 and a half years to 23 years.

  1. Soldier Tradesmen (All Arms except Syce, House Keeper and Mess Keeper)

Education Qualification- A 10th passed applicant is eligible for this post. No such specification regarding aggregate percentage but the applicant should have at least 33% in every subject.

Age Limit- The applicants who are eligible for this post, should be between 17.5 years to 23 years.

  1. Soldier Tradesmen (Syce, House Keeper and Mess Keeper)

Education Qualification- A 8th passed applicant is eligible for this post. No such specification regarding aggregate percentage but the applicant should have at least 33% in every subject

Age Limit- The applicants should be between 17.5 years to 23 years.

  1. Survey Automated Cartographer (Engineers)

Education Qualification- The applicants should have a BA or B.Sc degree with maths. They must have qualified their 10+2 or equivalent examination with science and maths as their main subjects.

Education Qualification- The applicants should pass their 10+2 or intermediate examination. They should also have a Diploma or Certificate Course of at least 1 year in Cookery or Hotel Management and Catering Tech under a well-recognized University or Food Craft Institute. AICTE recognition is not essential.
